The DukaLetu founder, Dr. Hassan O. Ali, an Electrical Engineer by profession, is a native of Zanzibar, Tanzania, residing and working in the United States for a top-tiered semiconductor company.

The idea of the DukaLetu services came out of the need to help those in the diaspora to help their loved ones back home easily get their everyday needs. He started DukaLetu in February 2024, to provide a reliable and trusted way of purchasing high-quality products and deliver them efficiently to the recipients.
